  • Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C), is a 2006 Rugby High School graduate, received her Clinical Laboratory Science degree, from University of North Dakota, was certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist and licensed by the state of North Dakota as a medical Technologist. She started her career at Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, ND where she worked for over five years. She returned to UND and graduated in 2017 from the Physician Assistant Studies program. 

    Nicole is the first provider at Heart of America Johnson Clinics to participate in the Don't Quit the Quit program. This program is dedicated to supporting pregnant and postpartum woman in rural North Dakota who are in recovery from opioid use disorders. She offers these services at both Rugby and Dunseith clinics.

  • Family Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (FNP-BC) is a 2018 graduate of University of California, Davis and board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Maryn joined Presentation Medical Center in January 2019 and developed PMC’s Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) Clinic. She is the first provider at Presentation Medical Center to participate in the Don’t Quit the Quit Program and she is offering MAT services in the Rolla Presentation Clinic.

Northland Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center that provides healthcare services in rural North Dakota. Based in the North Dakota communities of Bismarck, Bowbells, McClusky, Minot, Ray, Rolette, Rolla, and Turtle Lake. 

They are a non-profit healthcare organization, striving to be the premier healthcare provider in the communities we serve by increasing access to healthcare and providing quality healthcare to all regardless of their ability to pay. We encourage all patients, no matter their financial status, to apply for discounted healthcare services. The application process is simple and takes no more than a few minutes to complete.

  • Joined the Northland Health Centers team in 2019 as Medical Director and will be seeing patient in Rolla and Rolette.  Dr. Kremer is originally from Tioga. She went on to University of North Dakota Medical School and graduated in 2011. Dr. Kremer completed her residency at UND Center for Family Medicine in Bismarck.  She has a passion for preventative health, pediatrics and women’s health though sees patients of all ages for chronic and acute care.

  • Was born and raised in Rugby and continues to reside there with her family. She graduated from Dakota College of Bottineau with her RN before continuing on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Minot State University and a Master of Science in ​Nursing-Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner in August of 2017. Prior to working at Northland Health Centers, Christy was a Nurse Practitioner at Heart of America in Rugby and a Charge Nurse at Haaland Estates in Rugby. Christy went on to become a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner February 2019. Christy and her husband, Lee, have three children, two dogs and two cats. She enjoys   spending time with family, woodworking, photography, crocheting, and sewing. As a family they also enjoy camping trips, especially in the mountains in Montana.

Outside of providing care for patients, Dr. Samson enjoys spending quality time with her husband, two children (with one on the way) and friends. Dr.Ben Bucher

  • A native of Rolla, ND, Ben Bucher joined TCMC in 2015 as the new administrator/CEO and also joined the medical staff as a family nurse practitioner specializing in ER, clinic, and hospital medicine. Bucher graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2003. He went on to practice at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks for a number of years before returning to graduate school at UND and completing his FNP degree. Bucher is board certified in family medicine and has specialty care in dermatological procedures, joint injections, and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In 2014, Bucher completed his Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in healthcare. He currently is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is in the process of becoming a Fellow; the organization’s highest honor.

  • Began practicing medicine at Towner County Medical Center on September of 2015 after completing his training at the University of South Dakota.  His undergraduate work consists of a Bachelors Degree from North Dakota State University in Radiologic Sciences.  Grant grew up on his family farm in Penn, North Dakota.  Grant is married and they have two children.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, fieldwork, woodworking, cooking, biking, and spending time with family.

Sam Held

  • Sam has been practicing medicine at Towner County Medical Center since 2013.  Prior to working at TCMC he was practicing medicine in Rolla, ND.  Sam was born at Towner County Medical Center, and grew up on a farm between Rock Lake and Bisbee.  Sam completed both his undergraduate and graduate work at the University of North Dakota, graduating summa cum laude and with honors.  Sam has experience as a Cardiac nurse and ICU nurse prior to moving into family practice.  He and his family reside here in Cando.  His wife grew up in Langdon, N.D. and they have three sons.  Sam enjoys the small town life, and the opportunity to care for members of his community.

Cassie Ullyott

  • Graduated from the University of North Dakota and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2011. She practiced as an Oncology nurse at Altru for 6 years before completing her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner at UND this past Spring. Cassie is Board certified as well as a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
    Cassie is looking forward to building her clientele in all areas of family medicine, but also has special interests in women’s health, dermatology procedures and diabetes management. “I have a strong commitment to improving the health and wellness of our rural residents and am excited to serve the community and surrounding area while providing high quality care to patients across the lifespan”.
    Cassie is originally from Hallock, MN, now resides in Langdon, ND.  Cassie also enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
