Strategic Plan 2024-2027

Engaging in strategic planning is crucial for our college, ensuring that we chart a course that aligns with our vision and objectives and paves the way for our future success.

In August 2023, the University of North Dakota College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) launched a strategic planning process as part of the broader University of North Dakota UND LEADS initiative.

The process began with faculty and staff from CNPD departments and units providing input to develop a new mission statement, core values, and goals.

Grant Funded Units

Our college is fortunate to host two grant-funded units with unique missions. These groups have tailored the CNPD Strategic Plan to align with their specific missions.

  • The Children and Family Services Training Center (CFSTC)
  • Recruitment-Retention of American Indians into Nursing (RAIN)

A Steering Committee, formed from nominations of both faculty and staff from across the college, drafted the initial mission and goals, which were reviewed by faculty and staff in February 2024. External stakeholders, including alumni and community partners, were also surveyed to provide feedback.

CNPD Mission Statement

To provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship, and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.

Core Values

Our efforts to shape the future of the CNPD are part of the broader UND initiative. Although objectives may vary for some UND core values, the Steering Committee has consciously aligned the CNPD core values of Learning, Equity, Affinity, Discovery, and Service with the UND LEADS Strategic Plan, ensuring a cohesive and collaborative approach within the University.

Departments and Units will create and implement action steps to address all core values by 2027.
