Human Nutrition BS

The UND Department of Nutrition and Dietetics offers a Human Nutrition major with two track options: Health Promotion or Sciences.

Year 1

First Semester (15 credits)
  • N&D 240/L Fundamentals of Nutrition (4 cr)
  • MATH 103 College Algebra or higher (3 cr)
  • *CHEM 121/L General Chemistry I/L (4 cr)
  • ENGL 110 Composition I (3 cr)
  • ND 100 Intro to N&D (in person only) (1 cr)
Second Semester (14-15 credits)
  • N&D 100 Introduction to Nutrition & Dietetics (live online) (1 cr)
  • *CHEM 122/L General Chemistry II/L (4 cr)
  • ENGL 130 College Composition II (3 cr)
  • PSYC 111 Introduction to Psychology (3 cr)
  • Option A/B, Essential Studies, or Elective Courses (3 cr)
  • **ND 220 Food Service Safety and Sanitation (optional) (1 cr)

The UND Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition is not intended to lead to professional licensure

*For BSHN degree, CHEM 115/L (4 cr.) and CHEM 116/L (4 cr.) may replace: CHEM 121/L, CHEM 122/L, CHEM 340/L
