Each year, the CNPD and its programs recognize outstanding members of our CNPD faculty and staff through three college awards.
Nomination Timeline
The nomination period is the same for all three CNPD awards:
- Nominations open: February 1
- Nominations close: March 1 at 11:59 p.m.

CNPD Distinguished Service and Teaching Awards
Each year, the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) recognizes two faculty members for their contributions in the areas of service and teaching.
- CNPD Distinguished Academic Service Award: Recognizes an individual who demonstrates a high-level of service within the department, college, university, and profession, including any leadership roles.
- CNPD Distinguished Teaching Award: Recognizes an individual who demonstrates excellence in teaching by integrating teaching methods that are engaging and produce high-quality student learning outcomes.

CNPD Faculty Research and Scholarship Contribution Awards
Each year, the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) recognizes the contribution of faculty members who have conducted or promoted research or scholarship that has enhanced science and practice in the College.
All nominees must be full-time faculty with CNPD experience. Both tenure and clinical rank faculty are eligible to receive the award. This year, two awards will be given:
- One to a Tenure-Track & Tenured Faculty – Open to faculty on the tenure track or those who have achieved tenure.
- One to a Clinical Faculty - Open to faculty in clinical ranks.

CNPD Staff Sparky Awards
Each year, the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) recognizes and celebrates staff members in the College who consistently demonstrate excellence, dedication, teamwork, and a positive impact behind the scenes.
To be considered for this award, staff must meet the following criteria:
- Employed at UND for 2 years or greater
- Have not been recognized in the same award category in the past five years
